Where the age comes from
A domain's age is measured from its original registration date, the date recorded by the registry the moment it was first purchased, not the date it was last renewed or transferred. This tool reads that date straight from RDAP, or WHOIS for the smaller number of registries without RDAP support, and converts it into a plain years/months/days figure.
